JNV BECKONS, Down The Memory Lanes
Joining JNV Almatti in 1995-96 was transformative. We faced homesickness, bonded over shared experiences, and learned valuable life lessons. Despite challenges, our unity and friendships made those years unforgettable.

Myself joined JNV Almatti in 1995-96(9th batch). I am a second list joinee. I got a roll no.708 which is student’s ID while my batch roll no. starts with 640. There were two classes “A” & “B” & I was told my class is “B”.
If I am not wrong there were near about 40 students including girls & boys in my class.
It took me quite long time to get acquainted with residential-school life which was new to most of us. We were all in 6th std when we started our new phase of life, most of us were “home-sick”. Daily at end of day we used sit in a circle as a group and used to cry…!!! under the leadership of Ramesh Bhovi, which continued for more than a year I guess.
There was a belief that all intelligent students were in class “A”(Shankar k.d,goutam,Akkatai,vijay,channu,rajesh,anil,yalgur,muttu,bheemu,pammu,shrishail,,priya,shantu,veena,mamadapur,suresh…etc.. ) and only average & below average students were in class “B”, but I am not sure up to what extent it was true.
Days passed, slowly we as friends got close to each other. Like other classes we also had many misunderstandings & indifference amongst friends which resulted in many groups in our class. Years passed, by that time we had grown up enough to understand the “friend” and “foe”. I guess, this groupism continued till 12th std.
I had the privilege to spend important part of my life in such esteemed organization with my best friends of all the time. It has taught me how to face the life, it has taught me how to sustain in this society, it has taught me how to lead a life. I can’t imagine my life without JNV. We can cope up with any kind of situation, we are agile because we are JNVians. I hope my friends also feel the same.
We equally faced hard and good times but the main thing was UNITY was our strength. We never let down anyone of our friends during his difficult times. let me give an instance here: I still remember the day , when our cute channu saved me and my friends from Ashokan sir ,where we all were the culprits but channu told that he was the only culprit. That speaks volumes about friendship, isn’t it??
It was in 12th std that everybody was good friend of every one. We were so close such that we knew everything about each other’s family and his problems.
But now time has changed. I feel very sad because we are not same as before
“Life has gone with so many convertions… we have left behind so many memories …Those memories when recollected leaves tears…would those days return? would those friends will be same as before?…
But they are busy in chasing their dreams ……”
Those memorable moments still ruminate ….eternal moments…….Which we can’t afford to forget…….. but only refresh those memories.
